very greasy food, reasonable price, over friendly waiter, dirty table (stained table cloth), just not going to return

I went to Provenza for dinner with my friend back in late September 2016. We picked the restaurant because we wished to have Italian food for dinner and wanted to sit somewhere with a view. This restaurant met both of those requirements. We were seated outside on the patio overlooking the Nuremberg market square. The restaurant was not crowded with just two other occupied tables outside and three occupied inside, so we expected to receive relatively quick service, but we were in no hurry. The waitress came over and took our drink order (a Bier and a wine). The waitress came back with our drinks and took our food order. We ordered a large four-piece bruschetta appetizer to split and two pasta dishes for our entrees. We were enjoying our drinks and listening to live music coming from the market square, but after 45 minutes we both realized that we did not have our appetizers yet and the waitress had not come outside to check on us. Something was wrong. My friend went inside to inquire about our food. I was still outside, but I turned around and saw the waitress explaining something to my friend through the glass. Our food was nowhere to be seen. I was annoyed and still hungry, so I grabbed my friend’s purse and went inside – determined to leave and go eat somewhere that could actually deliver food in under 45 minutes. I went inside and the waitress explained “You see, you ordered four pieces of bruschetta. The kitchen only made three, so the chef had to make four more to make the order correct.” It made no sense. She continued “The kitchen is about to start on your pasta orders.” I had reached my boiling point and I said “No, do not bother. We aren’t eating here anymore. Come on; we’re leaving.” The waitress looked shocked as if she didn’t understand why we would be upset as she started to print off the check for our a single wine and beer. “No, you must be crazy. We’re not paying for those. We went 45 minutes without you checking on us and with no appetizer. We’re leaving. Now.” We walked less than two blocks away to another Italian restaurant that was PACKED, yet we received our food within twenty minutes of being seated. Avoid Provenza at all costs if you want to be fed.

Great salads, Bruschetta should come with a better bread.
