Food was excellent! Had a great time enjoying my spider roll, unagi and sakorro beef.

High end Japanese restaurant in a 5* international hotel that hasn't quite live up to its price tag..
Ambience:
Slightly dim, decorated with iron sculptures & partitioned with shatter-effect glass panels, it's considerably cosy. Leather lined tables are quite well maintained.
Service:
Entered restaurant & only to be greeted after a few mins. The welcome to checking our reservation to seating us, zero warmth & energy by a Malay lady. After 15 mins being given the menu, no one came to check on us. Finally our waving hands caught the eye of a pleasant Chinese guy who was smiley in most instances. No one was proactive to refill our green tea & each request took quite a while. The wait between dishes took abt 15-20mins. When we were leaving, staffs did not bid goodbye.
Food:
Overall quality 2nite (06/08/17) was underwhelming.
• Sushio sashimi (6 types) 7/10 over 3 days old.
• Crab fried rice @ 7/10 smells better than taste.
• Wagyu sirloin @ 7/10 natural sweetness overpowered by other seasonings.
• Seafood platter (halibut, scallop, king prawn) @ 4/10 Halibut perfectly cooked & seasoned. Scallop & prawn overcooked & rubbery. These 2 were replaced by salmon..vry crispy skin but over seasoned w salt & the miso dressing killed its natural sweetness.
• Boston Lobster @ 6/10 salty, tough membrane left intack with flesh, lack freshness & overdressed with sauce.
Bill was abt RM1060 (USD248)..worth it??

Went on a Wedneaday for lunch and this place is just incredible. Food was so fresh and bento boxes were so damn good. Highly recommended .

As per usual, Chef Johnny was superb in execution, presentation and taste of his creations. The steam snow crab was done to purrffection!!! I can recall every tasty morsel of the succulent sweet flesh. Really enjoy our evening. Their is our go to Japanese place in Kuala Lumpur. It never fails to deliver on food, atmosphere and service. A definite must go for all Japanese food fan.
