There are still bears is Bern (name of the city is linked to it). Hopefully, they have got a new and big parc close to the river, in which then can spend good time.
Definitely a place to pass by, even more if you have children ;)

Located just a bridge crossing from old town this restaurant is easy to get to and allows for some great photos of the city. Located right beside the bear park (they were hibernatng) would make this a fun stop for families. The restaurant/bar has amazing beer and good traditional Swiss/German food. Reasonable prices and good atmosphere.

A great place for photography sessions, as this provides an excellent view of the river and the architecture around it. The bridge, with the houses and the river makes this place a must visit. Make it a point to walk along the pathway just beside the river stream. And yeah, there are bears too..
