What a pleasant surprise, having never been in this pub only ever driven past it, we arranged to meet as it was a mutually convenient location. And we were indeed very surprised with the interior, nicely decorated, a warm welcome and a nice fire ideal on a winter evening. There is parking outside and a very good menu available. We will certainly be back.

The decor is quite cosy for a roadside pub, but the tables had not been wiped at 11am on a Saturday, which is a bit odd. The main thing that struck us was the curtness of the couple that own the place, who reacted to our drinks orders as though we had interrupted a private funeral.

Popped in here on spec on way to Cheddar Gorge. Deserted at 2pm, which meant food was very quick. Best chips my partner and I have had in a long while. Lasagna was good too, garlic bread cooked properly, not burned and mouth-slicingly crisp like most places. Not cheap, but very attractive and beautifully situated. Would definitely come here again.

Looks really lovely inside but several beers had run out. Don't try and pop in to use the toilet - it's absolutely not allowed. Big beer garden. Just a bit frosty and not very welcoming.

Good Sunday lunch with freshly cooked meat and vegetables. Portions generous. Nice range of trad British sweets to follow.
