Fantastic place to grab some pictures. We bought the discovery pass and had the chance to explore this ship and loved it. Don't forget to get some goofy photos in the provided costumes!

Very interesting - quite moving. When I think about being on one of the boatspelling that took some of the passengers out to the Titanic, it is very moving - we'll worth a visit.

Very unique ship as it is the last remaining ship of the Whitestar Line. It was used as a tender (ship or boat that ferries passengers from and to a big ship) in the harbor of Cherbourg (France) to transport passengers to ocean liners that were to big to enter the harbor, such as Titanic and Olympic. It was built on the same shipyard as Titanic and Olympic and stood next to them on the yard. It's elaborately decorated and gives a feeling of how ships like Titanic were. After a long service of which part of it for the navy, it was almost scrapped but saved last minute and carefully restored by the original builder Harland and Wolf, using the original blueprints. I'm kind of a purist so I didn't like that it wasn't restored to specs; the steam engine and boiler are missing for example and they created a big movie room in the ship. But overall impressive and great that this ship has been saved.

Worth a visit to the SS Nomadic which was the tender for the Titanic and continued serving until the Queen Elizabeth's final voyage in 1968. The boat is mostly restored to how she would have been originally, tells the story of what it would have been like to travel on her, and the story of what happened to her during WW1 and WW2 as well as how she came to be rescued from scrap and returned to Belfast. It's much more realistic to get an understanding of what it was like in 1912 by stepping onto the Nomadic, than just going round the exhibition in Titanic Belfast.

Brilliant exhibit by itself, an actual tender that served the Titanic & last surviving White Star Line Ship. Make sure to go see all levels and areas - easy to miss the bow & stern areas. Give yourself a good hour and a half here. Ask the guides for a quick intro too, they are very knowledgeable.
