Tourism A specialized center of medical tourism services is opened in Vitebsk.

The new state-owned enterprise will operate on the basis of the 2nd Vitebsk Regional Hospital under the Ministry of Health. The clinic centers of the site promise complete confidentiality and individual choice of hospitals for examination and treatment. Among the list of possible clinical centers are 15 health facilities in Vitebsk and Vitebsk region. Customers can order medical tours with individual selection of clinic for examination and treatment. The hospitals provide a preliminary calculation of the cost of examination or treatment, as well as the preparation, translation and transferring the medical reports at the end of treatment, and services of an interpreter during the stay.
Shopping Traditional Belarusian handicrafts are available in the "Univermag" department store on ul. Zamkovaya or at the train station. They can also be purchased at the open market not far from the train station.
Sights Vitebsk is often referred to as the "Cultural Capital" of Belarus. It is best known as the birthplace of the Jewish painter Marc Chagall, and his home has been preserved and operates as a museum. It is located near the railway station and costs 5000 rubles to get in.

Wizebsk (/Viciebsk; Witebsk ; poln. Witebsk, lit. Vitebskas, lett. Vitebska) ist eine Stadt im Norden Weißrusslands nahe den Grenzen zu Russland und Lettland mit 347. 500 Einwohnern (Stand 1. Januar 2009). Sie hat einen Flusshafen an der Dwina, ist Industriestadt (Maschinenbau, Leicht-, Nahrungsmittel-, Textilindustrie), Eisenbahn- und Straßenknotenpunkt sowie kultureller Mittelpunkt des Gebietes mit Universität, Hochschulen, Theater, Museen, Galerien und Baudenkmälern. Wizebsk ist Hauptstadt der Woblast Wizebsk sowie Sitz des am 13. Oktober 1999 gegründeten römisch-katholischen Bistum Witebsk.
