Konopiste was originally built in the 13th century, but was later reconstructed into a baroque hunting
Castle. Nowadays it houses, amongst other things, a big collection of Medieval weaponry and rennaissance statues. You can visit the rooms of its most famous resident, the Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and see the bullet that killed him and started the First World War.
Karlstejn and
Konopiste can both be visited together in a fully day trip taking about 8-9 hours.
