It is an Ottoman mosque commissioned in 1558 and completed in 1570. Next to Mevlana museum.

Selimiye Mosque is probably work of the famous architect Mimar Sinan. Works started in 1558 when Prince (later Sultan) Selim II commissioned the mosque and completed in 1570. Typical double-minaret 16th century Ottoman mosque. A visit is recommended._
